1. Who We Are

Controller: Darksy OÜ (Estonia).
Contact email: [email protected].

2. What This Policy Covers

This Policy covers information processed by the Company in connection with the App. Apple Inc. operates the App Store and processes payments. Apple’s processing is governed by Apple’s own privacy policies and terms.

3. Key Points (Summary)

  • On-device cleaning: the App’s core cleaning features (such as scanning and grouping items for deletion) are performed locally on your device. We do not upload or store your photos, videos, or contacts on our servers for cleaning purposes.
  • App Store billing: purchases and refunds are handled by Apple. We do not receive your full payment card details.
  • Diagnostics & attribution: we and our service providers (Crashlytics, Sentry, Firebase, AppsFlyer, Apphud) process limited technical data and identifiers to keep the App reliable, measure performance, and understand installs/subscriptions.

Important: “tracking” (as defined by Apple) requires your permission via App Tracking Transparency (ATT). If you do not allow tracking, we do not access IDFA for tracking, and attribution may rely on Apple-provided mechanisms (for example, SKAdNetwork) and other non-tracking signals.

4. Information We Process

4.1 Content on Your Device (Photos, Videos, Contacts)

If you grant permission, the App can access your Photos library and/or Contacts to provide cleaning features (for example, finding duplicates and helping you select items for deletion). This processing happens locally on your device. We do not upload or store your personal media files or contact details on our servers for cleaning purposes.

Deleting content may be irreversible. You are responsible for reviewing items before deletion and maintaining backups.

4.2 Purchases and Subscription Status (App Store)

When you purchase a subscription through the App Store:

  • Apple processes the payment and refunds.
  • We may process Apple-provided transaction/receipt data needed to validate and maintain your access to subscription features (for example, entitlement/subscription status and transaction identifiers), as made available through Apple frameworks/APIs.

We do not receive your full payment method details.

4.3 Refund Support (Using Apple Purchase Data)

Refund decisions and payment reversals are handled by Apple (not the Company). However, to help you with refund-related support, we may:

  • ask you to provide App Store purchase information (for example, your Apple “Order ID” / transaction identifier),
  • use Apple-provided transaction/receipt information to identify the purchase, confirm entitlement state, and troubleshoot issues,
  • guide you through Apple’s refund request process (for example, via Apple’s “Report a Problem” flow),
  • and, where supported, present Apple’s in-app refund request sheet (StoreKit) so you can submit a refund request directly to Apple from within the App.

We use this information only to provide support and do not make the final refund decision.

4.4 Support Communications

If you contact us (for example, by email), we process your email address, the content of your message and any attachments you provide, and any information you include (such as device details or purchase identifiers) to respond and provide support.

4.5 Technical, Diagnostic, and Attribution Data

To operate, secure, and improve the App, and to measure attribution and subscription events, we (and our service providers) may process limited technical information such as:

  • device and system data (device model, iOS version, language/region),
  • App data (App version/build number, feature usage signals, error codes),
  • crash logs and performance diagnostics,
  • network data (IP address may be processed for security/anti-fraud, analytics, and attribution purposes),
  • identifiers:
    • Identifier for Vendors (IDFV) and/or other app-scoped identifiers used for diagnostics/analytics,
    • Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) only if you grant permission via Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt, when required.
  • attribution-related data (install and engagement signals, campaign/source information where available).

We do not use this data to access your photos/videos/contacts content. Core cleaning operations remain on-device.

4.6 App Tracking Transparency (ATT)

If the App engages in “tracking” as defined by Apple, we will request your permission via ATT before accessing IDFA. If you decline, we do not access IDFA for tracking, and attribution may use Apple-provided mechanisms (for example, SKAdNetwork) and other non-tracking methods.

5. Third-Party SDKs We Use

We use the following third-party services to operate and improve the App. These providers act as our service providers (processors) and process data on our behalf under contractual restrictions.

Provider Purpose Typical data categories
Firebase (Google) App infrastructure, analytics (if enabled), and related services Device/app info, event data, identifiers, diagnostics (depending on configuration)
Firebase Crashlytics Crash reporting and stability improvements Crash logs, device/app info, diagnostics, identifiers (as configured)
Sentry Error monitoring and performance diagnostics Error events, performance traces, device/app info, IP may be processed depending on settings
AppsFlyer Attribution and measurement of installs/subscription events Attribution signals, device/app info, identifiers; IDFA only with ATT permission (when required)
Apphud Subscription/paywall infrastructure and subscription analytics Subscription status, paywall events, device/app info, identifiers

  • prevent fraud, abuse, and misuse,
  • comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

8. Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share limited information:

  • With Apple: to process purchases/refunds and validate entitlements, and to support Apple-managed refund flows.
  • With service providers (processors): Firebase/Crashlytics, Sentry, AppsFlyer, Apphud and similar vendors that help us run and improve the App.
  • For legal reasons: if required by law, court order, or to protect rights, safety, and security.
  • Business transfers: if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, restructuring, or asset sale, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

9. International Transfers

We are based in Estonia and may use service providers in other countries. Where required, we implement appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.

10. Data Retention

  • Photos/Videos/Contacts used for cleaning: processed locally; we do not retain your media files or contact details on our servers for cleaning purposes.
  • Support communications: retained as long as needed to address your request and for reasonable record-keeping, unless a longer retention is required by law.
  • Purchase/support identifiers (Order ID/transaction identifiers): retained only as needed to provide support, prevent fraud, and maintain records.
  • Diagnostics/attribution/subscription analytics: retained for a limited period necessary for troubleshooting and product improvement, and as configured in the relevant service providers’ settings, unless a longer period is required by law.

11. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Your Choices and Rights

12.1 iOS Permissions

You can grant or revoke Photos/Contacts permissions at any time in iOS Settings. If you revoke a permission, some features may not work.

12.2 Subscriptions

You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID account settings.

12.3 App Tracking Transparency (ATT)

If tracking permission is requested, you can allow/deny it and later change it in iOS Settings. If you deny permission, we do not access IDFA for tracking.

12.4 Access, Deletion, and Other Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or object to certain processing of personal data. To exercise your rights, contact us at [email protected]. We may need to verify your request (for example, by asking for support context or purchase identifiers).

13. Children’s Privacy

The App is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required by local law). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child provided us information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date above. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice in the App where feasible.
